Why the individual format is effective

This is online German tutoring. It is not a typical screen broadcast accompanied by the teacher’s comments, but a remote lesson where students do not feel the distance.

According to our format:

one-on-one lessons with a tutor;
the program is tailored to your goals: admission to educational institutions, preparation for language tests, work, relocation, or self-development;
materials are selected according to the student’s preferences and interests;
we analyze difficult points in detail and analyze mistakes;
we focus on sprechen and hören.

We also carefully work through only modern vocabulary, not the kind that surprises Europeans.

Schoolchildren

Preschoolers and younger grades
This is necessary for parents who plan to send their child to a German-speaking school, as we cover the entire German language program for lower grades and part of the program for upper grades.

Upper grades
Thorough preparation for the NMT or international exams, such as TestDaF. We use materials from upper grades and elements of first-year programs.

Students

Improving your level
Systematic work on complex topics and professional vocabulary in various fields.

Preparation for exams and EVI
Intensive courses for TestDaF, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat, or entrance exams, as well as training in the format of real tests.

From A0 to C1

How lessons are conducted

Teacher

Start of training
Our German tutors only begin working with beginners once they have a clear understanding of their level of knowledge. Most of the lesson is devoted to this.

Roadmap
Once they know what the student needs, the teacher and methodologist draw up a course plan. This is done so that the student does not have to learn unnecessary information.

Lesson

Adults
A short warm-up at the start – a little conversation.
The main focus is on vocabulary and grammar, with a little less on listening, reading, and pronunciation.
Conversational practice always takes place as a separate, full-fledged lesson.

Children
Warm-up + work with vocabulary and grammar, which takes up most of the lesson.
A little less time is devoted to listening and reading.
Pronunciation, repetition, and summary are also short stages.
Conversational practice is separate.

Organization

Schedule
Classes last 30 or 55 minutes. Students or parents agree on the time for classes directly with the teacher or service manager. Lessons can be canceled or rescheduled, but please notify us as soon as possible.

Independent review
Homework is presented in the form of quests on online platforms.
Teachers also provide students with detailed feedback on the lesson results to facilitate learning.

How long is a German lesson?

The duration depends on the student’s request: the standard length is 55 minutes, but younger students or those who prefer a more dynamic pace sometimes choose 30 minutes. Both options are effective. A longer lesson allows you to thoroughly work through a new topic, while a shorter one helps you stay focused and avoid fatigue.

Can I change my class schedule?

Yes, the schedule is agreed upon only between the student and the teacher or support manager, so you control your own workload. It is possible to cancel or reschedule classes. This approach allows you to combine studying with work or other activities, maintain the regularity of classes and the rhythm of the course.

Do I need a certain level of knowledge to start learning German?

We do not require beginners to have a specific level. You can start learning German from scratch, without even knowing the alphabet, but you need to determine how basic your level is to understand where to start the course. After that, a program and plan are developed for the student.

At what age can I start learning German?

AP Courses employs German tutors for both adults and children. We listen to the recommendations of specialists who study the development of the prefrontal cortex in children, so we mainly enrol children who are at least 4–6 years old in the course, at an age when they need to prepare for school. There are no age restrictions for adults, even for older people.

Will there be homework in German?

Yes, but it has little in common with traditional homework: assignments are presented in the form of interactive exercises, quests, or short online practices. We do not allow overload or wasted time. Our task is to help reinforce the material between lessons, so the teacher also provides individual feedback to guide the work in the right direction.

How many German lessons are needed to move to the next level?

Usually, about 20–25 lessons are enough to move to a new level at the initial stage and up to 35–45 lessons at a higher level. But the duration of progress depends not only on the number of lessons. The pace, intensity, and balance between theory and practice are also important here, and the motivation and efforts of the student themselves play a big role.

How much does an individual online German lesson cost?

The cost of one-on-one lessons ranges from 558 to 830 UAH. The final amount is determined by the package: the wider the range of services provided by the teacher, methodologist, and manager, as well as access to additional materials and services, the higher the cost will be.
